Terms of Service

1. Accounts

• You are responsible for the accuracy of the name you provide — it will appear on any certificate you earn.
• One account per person. Don’t share credentials.
• Anyone can take a typing test without an account. To create an account you must be 13 or older; under-13s are welcome to use the site as a guest.

2. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use scripts, macros, auto-typers, or any automation that produces typing-test results without a human actually typing.
• Attempt to defeat anti-cheat measures (WPM caps, accuracy floors, timing checks, server-side text validation).
• Purchase or request a certificate in someone else’s name without their consent.
• Resell, white-label, or scrape BEA Type.
• Interfere with, probe, or attack the service or its infrastructure.

Violations may result in test results being invalidated, certificates being revoked without refund, and the account being banned.

3. Certificates

• Certificates are issued only for test runs that pass our anti-cheat validation.
• Each certificate carries a unique number and a QR code linking to a public verification page.
• We may revoke a certificate if we determine (at our reasonable discretion) that it was obtained through cheating, fraud, payment reversal, or misrepresentation. Revocation reason is recorded on the public verification page.
• Certificates remain publicly verifiable as long as BEA Type operates. If we cease operations we will give reasonable notice.

4. Payments & subscriptions

• Prices are shown at checkout. Taxes may apply depending on your location.
• Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period until cancelled.
• Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
• If you are a consumer, nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.

5. Intellectual property

The BEA Type platform, its name, logo, design, code, and test paragraphs are owned by Basilico Simply Italian Limited. Certificates you earn are yours to share. You retain ownership of any content you generate (e.g., your name, your test results).

6. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. We don’t guarantee that BEA Type will be uninterrupted, bug-free, or that a given employer will recognise our certificate. Typing speed is a useful indicator but not a certification of employment suitability.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Basilico Simply Italian Limited’s total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or £50 — whichever is greater.

8. Termination

You can delete your account at any time by contacting us. We can suspend or terminate your account for breach of these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (IP, liability, governing law) will survive.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes, unless otherwise required by local law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified to account holders by email. Continued use of BEA Type after an update constitutes acceptance.
